That depends on whether you want a cheap boring Headshot, an affordable average Headshot, or you’re willing to invest in a high-quality Headshot.
Because you have photographers that range from inexperienced all the way up to years of experience, you also have Headshot prices that range from cheap to not so cheap.
When you’re looking for a Portrait Photographer in Dallas, TX, or any other city, it’s important to know what you’re getting versus the investment you’ll be making.
So, let’s answer the question of how much does a Headshot cost.
As I mentioned earlier, you will find a range of prices when it comes to getting your headshot made.
You can expect to invest anywhere from $75 (cheap) all the way up to a $1,000 plus (quality).
Three variables will go into choosing the prices you’re willing to pay for a Headshot, which translates into WHO you’ll be choosing as your Headshot photographer, which I’ll get into in a minute.
On the low end of Headshot pricing, I once asked a real-estate friend of mine how much they pay for Headshots and he told me, “around $75.”
DANG! That’s Walmart cheap.
And, they’re Walmart quality too.
While this is really cheap, I have a photographer friend in Irving, TX who only charges $125 for his Headshots, and to be honest, they look like a buck and a quarter Headshots.
I know, I’m not making any friends here with this article.
My Photillustrator Headshots fall into what I consider the middle range of Headshot prices, and you can expect to invest $450 to $650 for my work.
Now, on the high end of Headshot prices, if you’re interested, you’ll find photographers like Peter Herley who caters to the model industry.
Ultimately, the old adage, “You pay for what you get”, still holds true.
You Are Your Brand
Regardless of whether you’re one of the 60% of business owners working from home (and growing), an employee for a company, a real estate agent, or a CEO of a major corporation, you are your brand.
Let me repeat that… YOU ARE YOUR BRAND
People today only do business with brands they Know, Like, and Trust.
Having a consistent image, or brand, throughout your social media platforms, website, and your printed materials makes a huge difference and helps your people get to Know, Like, and Trust you.
People do business with people, not businesses.
So, if your people are doing business and buying from you because of YOU, then why would you consider your Headshot portrait anything but an investment?
While investing in a model quality Headshot may not be in your budget right now, paying for a cheap Headshot may work against you by not delivering the image most beneficial to you.
Choose 2 of the 3
Here, however, I’m going to talk about the 3 things that’ll decide what photographer to choose and how much you’ll be spending.
You can only choose 2 of these 3 options…
Speed – Quality – Cost
Option #1: Fast and High Quality
If you want your Headshot portrait done fast and you want a high-quality portrait, then you can expect your investment to be higher. Generally, this is the option my Corporate Headshots fall into.
Option #2: Fast and Cheap
If you want your Headshot portrait done fast and you don’t want to spend much, then you can expect a lower quality portrait.
Option #3: High Quality and Cheap
If you want your Headshot portrait to be high quality but you don’t want to pay much for it, then you can expect a long turn-around time.
Choosing the Right Headshot Photographer
Headshot photographers come in all shapes and sizes, which means you have a lot to choose from, and it’s important to choose one that fits your specific needs.
If you’re looking for a cheap Walmart style portrait, you have plenty to choose from.
If you’re looking for a high-quality style portrait reasonably priced, however, I would love the opportunity to help you earn the Trust of your people with a branded Headshot portrait.
